Upon first meeting with a therapist at the Sexual Recovery Institute (SRI), each client receives a 90-minute to 2-hour assessment during which the history of their sexual addiction or family problem will be discussed and a roadmap for change created.
A proper assessment is the key to any good health care program. All clients coming to SRI receive a thorough one-on-one assessment with an experienced therapist to determine whether our services are necessary and if any adjunctive help is needed. This is the time when the immediate problems are evaluated, but also some of the history of those concerns, with all associated psychological, relationship and family history, are taken into consideration.
The assessment includes discussion of family history, general physical and mental health, other addictions, and family and social history, along with the immediate sexual concerns that brought the client to treatment. By the end of the assessment a plan is created to begin to manage and direct the most immediate sexual acting out concerns along with any other issues that might be discussed.
Assessment for Professionals
SRI works closely with the Professionals Treatment Program at Promises Treatment Centers to provide comprehensive, empirically-based fitness for duty psychosexual evaluations for governing boards, professional organizations, and self-referred professionals who have engaged in or have been accused of workplace sexual violations.
