Professional Assessment

The Sexual Recovery Institute’s Professional Assessment Program offers comprehensive, empirically based fitness for duty psycho-sexual evaluations for governing boards, professional organizations and the self-referred professional.

The Professional Assessment Program (PAP) was created for situations where licensed and other professionals, having crossed sexual or relationship boundaries in or out of the workplace, require intensive evaluation to effectively determine whether or not they can safely continue to work in their current positions or need to be guided toward treatment related options. This program is provided to protect both the individual client as well as the referring licensing board, corporation or religious organization.

What We Offer

We assist professional bodies and institutions evaluate the need for sexual disorders treatment and provide return-to-work prognoses for professionals who have engaged in, or have been accused of workplace sexual violations. Our evaluations help to clarify any psycho-sexual concerns; resulting in a clear prognosis. Follow-up treatment guidelines (if relevant) are also provided.

The Process

Our professional assessment process takes 4-5 days. Participants can expect to be occupied anywhere from 4-6 hours on any given day.

Assessment Overview

The psycho-sexual evaluation utilizes tests focused on psychological functioning, sexual functioning, personality profile, and psychophysiologic testing specific to the alleged misconduct or concerns in question. A representative battery integrates self-report measures, objective measures and extensive clinical interview.

Typical Tests Administered

Admission

We require a full week of advance notice and a deposit prior to scheduling a professional assessment. All potential clients go through a phone screening/intake process and are then reviewed for approval by our clinical team. Clients are required to sign releases of information to all referring organizations upon admission. Those attending the program will need accommodations in Los Angeles, either in a hotel or with family/friends. A list of convenient hotels is available upon request.
