Frank has devoted more than 30 years to the fire department and now it’s time to retire. For most of his career, he carried on affair after affair with other women. But he has developed strong feelings for his latest conquest and because retirement has made it harder to make excuses for seeing his mistress, his wife found out.
Faced with an ultimatum from his wife, Frank feels torn. He feels he can’t be satisfied by just one woman, and doesn’t want to give up a woman who falls all over him and always has time for hot sex. At the same time, he feels disgusted with himself for betraying his wife, who raised three kids with him and has been loyally by his side for three decades. Should he stay with his wife or leave for the mistress?
Why He Might Seek Treatment
Frank goes to treatment hoping to figure out who he should be with, his wife or the mistress. He hopes that going to therapy will help control his wife’s rage and recent ultimatum. In treatment, he begins to explore why he needs so many women in order to feel lovable and confident in himself.
