Topics covered will include: discarding the "myths" of sexual addiction, sexual addiction as an intimacy disorder, differential diagnosis, defining types of sexual addicts, assessment tools, new social media technologies and their affect on sexual addiction, insight into the treatment of betrayed spouses and couples along with informed insight into the upcoming DSM 5 proposed Hypersexual Disorder diagnosis. The training will focus on the use of traditional addiction treatment methods as applied to addictive sex and intimacy disorders. Insight into sexual addiction pathology in both gay men and in women will be reviewed and introduced. Extra time will be allotted for case presentation and questions.
